HRT Studies
Medicine is a complex and ever evolving science. Every medical specialty has to stay current and learn new care protocols for their specialty at an ever increasing pace.
This means what a physician knew related to other specialties may no longer be current. Such is the case with a sub-specialty like bio-identical hormone replacement. Many providers not practicing in this field do not understand the nuances of hormonal therapy.
That creates confusion when the non-BHRT physician makes comments related to BHRT that are not based on the details of the specific treatment or is based on outdated science. The following studies may help the patient and non-BHRT providers understand the science supporting the internationally accepted protocols involving bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and the use of the BHRT "pellet" modality.
The attached documents cover a lot of information and is technical in nature. Most patients will need advanced training to understand it. The purpose of the documents are intended to show the science behind hormone replacement and assist the non-HRT specialist in understanding this approach to a patient's related health issues.
If you have about 55 minutes, listen/watch Drew Pinsky MD (internal medicine physician) and Gary Donovitz MD (Ob/Gyn) have an engaging conversation about BHRT pellet therapy. It really is a good overview of pellet therapy!
Dr. Rice's presentation is about 17 minutes and equally informative.
